count &#8220;first bluebonnet&#8221; from the first &#8220;bonnets&#8221; being open, so this counts.\u00a0 You can see one not as far along in the background.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In another shot, you can see that it&#8217;s already the target for hungry insects.\u00a0 Here there&#8217;s one tiny\u00a0 fly nose-down in a flower (seen from above) and one on the left zooming in.<\/p>\n<p><a evening primroses stayed open today in brilliant sun&#8211;it was about 1:30 this afternoon that I photographed them:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.80acresonline.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/yellow-evening-primrose328.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-954\" the bluebonnets, aren&#8217;t fully open yet.\u00a0\u00a0 This Drummond wild onion still has slightly folded petals:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.80acresonline.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/Drummond-wild-onion332.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-955\" starting to open its flowers&#8230;soon this will be a ball of pinkish purple:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.80acresonline.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/pink-verbena334.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-956\" title=\"pink-verbena334\" 302w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But the delicate little white mustard-family flower&#8211;I think this is <em>Capsella bursa-pastoris<\/em>&#8211;is already dropping the clump of Mexican plums is in full bloom and you can hear the bees in it from yards and yards away:<\/p>\n<p><a
