A winter dawn with the full moon silvering the distant grass-fields, the light in the sky slowly growing, colors changing on land and in the sky moment-to-moment; that moment when sky-light and moonlight are balanced, and then the sun’s loom takes over–before the actual sunlight touches the tops of the trees with a rosy-golden glow.<\/p>\n
For a few minutes, the distant field glows orange; more light returns it to bleached gold.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There’s always some high streak of cloud to give a touch of pink for a few minutes (the high clouds are now showing the palest warm gray, not quite white yet.)\u00a0 The horizon still has a hint of pink, but above it is a broad band of pale lemon yellow, that then shades into pale blue.<\/p>\n
Now the moon contributes no light, comparitively–it’s a decoration behind the branches of a redbud, a pale flat circle.\u00a0\u00a0 The first rays of sun have touched distant trees with that odd gold-rose that so quickly changes to yellow.<\/p>\n
